North Down win Senior Cup
Ryan Haire and Peter Shields
Captain Peter Shields and Man of the Match Ryan Haire
NCU Senior Cup holders Down Down have retained the trophy by beating North of Ireland in the two-innings final.

North had been set a daunting target of 252 for victory on the third day of the rain delayed final at Ormeau.

But they were never in sight of that figure and were all out for 158.

The basis of North Down's victory was their first innings of 287-3 in which Ryan Haire scored a 109 not out.

Along with skipper Peter Shields he put on an unbeaten 200.

North Down 287-3 (Ryan Haire 109 not out, P Shields 74 not out) and 167 (Robin Haire 54; A O'Prey 5-39). North of Ireland 203 all out (R Coetzee 76) and 158 all out. North Down won by 93 runs.

In the North-West Northern Bank Senior Cup Donemana defeated Limavady by 166 runs.

Man of the match was Azhar Shaffique after a fine spell of bowling in helping Donemana skittle Limavady for 72 in their second innings.

Donemana 243-6 and 211-9

Limavady 216-9 and 72 (Shaffique 5-28, Neely 4-29).
