Tyrone must face Derry again

The deja vu effect of this year's GAA Football Championship struck again on Sunday when Tyrone were paired with Derry in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

The Ulster counties will meet at Clones on Sunday 5 August (1430 BST) in a repeat of the Ulster semi-final clash which Tyrone won 3-7 to 0-14 in June.

Neither Ulster team will relish the clash with Tyrone probably particularly disappointed at having to face Derry once again.

Amazingly three of the last eight tees will see teams who have already met in the provincial championships.

Galway again tackle Roscommon who defeated them in the Connacht Football semi-finals.

The Connacht counties will meet on Saturday 4 August at Castlebar (1815).

Meath will renew hostilities with Westmeath at Croke Park on 5 August (1620).

The Royal County narrowly defeated Westmeath in the Leinster Championship earlier this summer.

The other last eight tie sees All-Ireland Champions Kerry taking on Dublin at Thurles on Saturday 4 August (1500) in what is bound to bring back memories of the great battles between the counties in the 1970s.

Tyrone or Derry with face either Galway or Roscommon in the All-Ireland semi-finals with Meath or Westmeath tackling Kerry or Derry in the other last four clash.
