The World Rally Championship has been expanded to take in 16 different countries in 2004.
The Rally of Mexico made its debut in March, and the WRC will visit Japan for the first time in September.
Italy switches from the asphalt of San Remo to Sardinia's gravel, and Rally GB has lost its season-ending slot.
The British round will now take place on 17-19 September, with the final rally of the campaign in Australia from 12-14 November.
