Redding is one of three British riders in the 125cc MotoGP Championship

Gloucestershire's Scott Redding says he will not let the prospect of this year's British MotoGP deflect his focus from this weekend's event in Germany. Quedgeley-based Redding, 16, won last year's 125cc race at Donington. He told BBC Gloucestershire: "I always look at the next race, not the race after the next one. "This year we've had a better bike but over the winter I've grown a lot and the bike has felt completely different so I've had to change a lot of things." Redding, who rides for the Blusens Aprilia team, is lying in 12th place overall going into the ninth round race at Sachsenring this weekend. His best result has been a fourth-placed finish in Spain earlier this season. "Last year at Donington was amazing, everything went to plan - I qualified on the front row and won the race, which was great," he said. "People come up to me and say 'Are you going to do the same this year?' but I can't promise anything, I've just said 'I'll do what I can do and try my hardest'." During his record-breaking debut season, Redding became the youngest ever winner of a two-wheel Grand Prix, and tallied over 100 points over the course of the season.
