Stoner finished his season by winning the Valencia Grand Prix

Casey Stoner has had successful surgery on the wrist problem that hampered him during the 2008 MotoGP season.
The 23-year-old Ducati rider had a staple and two floating "bodies" removed from his left lower arm and also underwent a bone graft.
The problem was caused by an injury from 2003 that never healed properly.
The 2007 world champion from Australia is now recuperating at home in Switzerland and said he expected his recovery to take three months.
Stoner ended the 2007 season on a high note, winning the Valencia Grand Prix, but had to settle for second place in the championship standings, 93 points behind runaway winner Valentino Rossi.
