TAS Suzuki team sign up Watanabe

The Moneymore-based Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing team has signed Japanese rider Atsushi Watanabe for the 2009 British Superbike championship season.

The 32-year-old was the Japanese Superbike champion in 2002 and 2007 and was part of the Rizla Suzuki team in this year's British Superbike series.

He will ride the all-new GSX-R 1000 for Hector and Philip Neill's outfit.

"Atsushi is an immensely talented rider and will bring a wealth of experience to our team," said Philip Neill.
