Lougher claims Southern 100 win

Ian Lougher took victory in Thursday morning's 600cc race at the Southern 100 meeting on the Isle of Man.

County Down-based Welshman Lougher finished ahead of Dungannon rider Ryan Farquhar while local Manx man Conor Cummins was third.

Michael Dunlop was fourth ahead of Newtownstewart man Adrian McFarland.

Wednesday's scheduled action had to be postponed because of bad weather and there will be further racing on Thursday afternoon.

William Dunlop and his brother Michael claimed the first two places in the opening 250cc race on Tuesday.

Winner William set a new lap record for the event in taking the victory ahead of his brother with Chris Palmer third.

Farquhar took second in the 1000cc race behind Guy Martin, who set a lap record of 111.15mph in taking the win, while Ian Lougher was in third.

Adrian McFarland claimed victory in Tuesday's 600cc race run concurrently with the 1000cc event.

Davy Morgan, John Burrows and Nigel Moore finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the 250cc race while Conor Cummins and Michael Dunlop were fourth and fifth in the 1000cc class.

Victor Gilmore was seventh in the 1000cc race with Davy Morgan in eighth.
