Jonathan Rea is to ride in the World Supersport championship with the Ten- Kate Honda team in 2008.

The 20-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with the Dutch-based team which will see him move up to race in World Superbikes in 2009 and 2010.

Rea also had offers to go straight into the Superbike series with Xerox Ducati, stay with his HM Plant Honda team or move to Rizla Suzuki.

The Ballyclare rider lies second in the British Superbike championship.

He is 41 points behind leader and team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari with two rounds and four races remaining in the series.
