Kawasaki improved one place on their 2004 finish, which was more due to the efforts of Shinya Nakano than German team-mate Alex Hoffman.
Nakano failed to register a podium place but scored consistently enough to finish 10th overall, insisting it was a good learning process.
Hoffman had an injury-plagued season, most memorably when he fell off at 25mph and broke his wrist.
Whether Kawasaki give him a third chance next year remains to be seen.
