Rider killed in pile-up
Huddersfield rider Darren Mitchell has died from injuries sustained on the opening lap of the National Superstock Championship at Brands Hatch.

The meeting was abandoned following the pile-up which left seven riders injured, with two seriously hurt.

A statement from the organisers said Mitchell was treated at the circuit and then air-lifted to Maidstone Hospital, where he died later on Sunday evening.

Riders Mark Heckles and Dean Johnson are both recovering from broken legs.
