Crump claims world title
Australia's Jason Crump has secured the speedway World Championship after claiming seventh place in the Norwegian Grand Prix in Hamar.

The 29-year-old was leading the standings by 17 points going into the final meeting and knew he only had to make the semi-finals to win the title.

Swedish five-time world champion Tony Rickardsson won the grand prix to seal second in the overall standings.

"It was an emotional moment for my team and family," said Crump.

"It's fantastic. I have dreamed of winning the world championship since I was a child and it's great to finally do it.

"I am really pleased it's finally happened and feel very fortunate to be in this position."
