"Michael Schumacher still says that he is back only to win the championship again, but Mercedes continue to struggle to match Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari.

"This has been a better season where he has remained closer to his team-mate Nico Rosberg, even though he blows a little hot and cold from race to race.

"The 'old Michael' is still there, though, as we saw very clearly with a great drive to fourth place in challenging conditions in Canada.

"He races again in 2012, and maybe even beyond."
