BBC COMMENTATOR MARTIN BRUNDLE'S VIEW
"After his awful winter rally accident it's so sad for Robert Kubica, Renault, and F1 that the super-fast Pole is not on the grid. "Nick Heidfeld took his place and has shown good speed, albeit inconsistently. "Heidfeld is very calm, fast, experienced, and mature, although by now it's pretty clear the level of performance he will deliver. Solid but not pace setting. "His qualifying has let him down a few times, and race strategy has not always played into his hands. The team have raised questions too, but Nick is a solid performer to have until a megastar becomes available, assuming they can attract one."
