"Romain Grosjean was drafted in by Renault to replace Nelson Piquet Jr, who was ditched by Renault following the Hungarian Grand Prix.

"I'm sure Renault - and former team boss Flavio Briatore, who lost his job after Piquet's race-fixing revelations - will be regretting that now.

"Grosjean hasn't been as quick as Piquet and just hasn't delivered.

"The Frenchman, who was born in the Swiss capital Geneva, has potential speed but he is accident-prone and makes too many mistakes. He likes a bit of a spin.

"He just charges at it in a way that appears to put him - and others around him - in the danger zone.

"Grosjean won the GP2 Asia Series last winter and was lying second to Williams test driver Nico Hulkenberg in GP2 before being promoted by Renault, but I don't see the same talent coming through from the feeder series as we saw with Lewis Hamilton and others.

"He may struggle to get a drive in 2010 unless he can take sponsorship to a new team."
