The current Ferrari team have set new standards of reliability and consistent excellence that their rivals have yet to match.
The F2004 that won 15 of the 18 races in 2004 - and which the team used in the first two races of 2005 - was not particularly innovative. And not all of its individual parts were necessarily the absolute best.
But Ferrari have found a way of ironing out nearly all of a car's weaknesses so that the overall package is well-nigh unbeatable.
Combine that with the best reliability the sport has ever known, and the best driver of his era in Michael Schumacher, and the result is an unbeatable combination.
