Happy birthday to Mario Andretti, who turns 70 today. And the party will continue to the first race of the F1 season in Bahrain, where Andretti will be part of the celebrations of the 60 years of the Formula One World Championship. He will be joined by a bunch of other champions and the Lotus 79 in which he won the 1978 title.

Mercedes were faster than they looked on day three of the Barcelona test - the car's ideal fastest lap was a 1m20.2, which is pretty quick.

Rubens Barrichello is optimistic that his Williams team will prove to be one of the surprises of the year after encouraging times in recent tests.

Former world champion Jacques Villeneuve is set to have a seat fitting in Stefan GP's car in Cologne on Monday. Team boss Zoran Stefanovic has said that the 1997 world champion is close to a deal with the Serbian squad, which continues to push for a place in the 2010 Formula 1 field.

Stefan GP would like to re-confirm its desire and, importantly, its ability to compete in the whole of the FIA 2010 Formula 1 World Championship. It recognises that this can only happen with the consent of the FIA and the FOM, but has faith that the Formula 1 'family' will make the correct decision in the end. There will be no more press releases on this subject and we look forward to being allowed to show everyone our team in Bahrain.
