Racing with Ferrari is close to a "guarantee" of success in Formula 1, according to the Italian team's new driver Fernando Alonso. "Ferrari is a brand made to compete; sometimes they win the title, sometimes not, but there are no disastrous periods," he told Cadena Ser radio. "I think Ferrari is the safest option for any driver."

Kimi Raikkonen doesn't seem too anxious about his future and is instead determined to find the right drive. He has reiterated that he is more than willing to bide his time until there's a suitable vacancy at a team that can offer him the chance to challenge for more race victories and further titles.

Anthony Hamilton has denied reports that his son Lewis is opposed to Kimi Raikkonen joining McLaren next season. "First of all I must say that neither Lewis nor I have any influence to the driver situation at McLaren," he told Turun Sanomat. "But if world championships are needed, then Kimi is also needed by the team, in my opinion."
