Ferrari's Michael Schumacher will be looking to continue his run of form after notching up the fastest time in Saturday morning practice at the Barcelona circuit.
The German clocked one minute 15.658 seconds in Saturday's last practice, while defending champion Fernando Alonso's was eighth quickest in his Renault after putting in significantly less laps.
Alonso, 13 points clear of Schumacher in the standings after five races, is seeking to become the first Spaniard to win at home.
But his Ferrari rival has won six times at the Circuit de Catalunya and is chasing his third victory in a row after triumphing at Imola and Nuerburgring.
Barcelona also sees Briton David Coulthard, sixth in final practice, start his 200th race on Sunday at the same circuit where he made his debut in 1994.
