Jenson Button admitted he was pleased to get the better of world champion Michael Schumacher to claim third place in the Germany Grand Prix.
The Briton was overtaken by the German on the first lap but exacted revenge by passing him at the hairpin on lap 45.
"It was nice to be battling with someone," said Button, who took a first podium this season at Hockeneheim.
"It was so difficult to pass round here, but I got ahead then disappeared for a lap before my pit stop."
And Button admitted he had to be patient before attacking Schumacher again on home soil.
"Michael got in front of me at the first corner," said the BAR driver.
"I got a bit wide and although I caught him after the first stop I couldn't pass him."
Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella was also rewarded for biding his time.
He swept past Schumacher, who was struggling with worn out rear tyres, at the same place as Button on the last lap to take fourth.
