McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen has had a knee operation in Finland and will be out of training for about up to a month.

Spokeswoman Anna Sorainen confirmed the the 26-year-old Finn had undergone an arthroscopy on his left knee.

"It's something that Kimi knew had to be done after the season, but it was very minor," she said.

Raikkonen, who finished as runner-up to Fernando Alonso in the F1 drivers' championship, will be able to return to full training in about four weeks.

He won seven races this year, and is not due to test again for McLaren until January.
