Italy's Vitantonio Liuzzi won his third consecutive International Formula 3000 race of the season at Monaco.
The Arden International driver led the 45-lap race from pole to finish just 2.8 seconds ahead of Enrico Toccacelo, with Jose Maria Lopez third.
Liuzzi now leads the championship, in its final year before being replaced as the top feeder series to Formula One, by six points from Toccacelo.
"I tried to push from the start but Enrico was always close," said Liuzzi.
"It wasn't easy. When I crossed the line I felt really happy - it gives you an incredible feeling."
