Wake me up before I go-go

Michael Schumacher is finding life in the fast lane such a doddle, he's having difficulty staying awake.

The Ferrari driver, who has already wrapped up his fifth world title, admitted he was getting bored during Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.

So much so that 12 laps from home he suddenly put his foot to the floor and broke the lap record - just for something to do.

"I did the fastest lap to wake myself up," he said after finishing second behind team-mate Rubens Barrichello.

It's tough at the top.

Not to worry, Michael, help is at hand. Here are a few ideas that might just liven things up a bit:

Clowns
Formula 1 has had its fair share of clowns

Circus:
How could you possibly nod off when you've got stilt walkers, acrobats and dancing bears to keep you occupied?

Then there's the clowns - although some might say there's already enough of them in Formula 1.

Bunny girls:

Employ a troupe of scantily-clad women to parade around the side of the track selling hot dogs and popcorn.

Guaranteed to liven up pit-stops - and they would certainly last a bit longer.

Hungarian Grand Prix 2002
Video nasty - the Hungarian Grand Prix

Movies:
Successfully employed by aviation companies to keep passengers entertained, a built-in video recorder could do just the same for Schumacher.

You'd have to be careful which title you selected, though - a copy of 'Formula 1 2002 - The Highlights' would be guaranteed to send him off to sleep.

Crossword puzzle:
Would definitely give him something to think about - like how to fill in the answers at 200mph.

Road rules:
BBC Sport Online columnist Derek 'Robbo' Robson is in favour of ditching the flashy cars and introducing some familiar obstacles.

Allegro
Here's your new car, Michael

He says: "They should get rid of these fancy, flat, one-man playing card things that go like the clappers and replace them with Austin Allegros.

"They should have traffic lights and roundabouts and you should be made to go round the same roundabout three times on each circuit.

"You could get held up by a bloke in a Skoda, it'd be much more interesting."

Schumacher in an Allegro - people would pay good money to see that.
