Ford stand by Jaguar
Jaguar's Eddie Irvine in action
Jaguar had a disappointing 2001 season
Formula One team Jaguar Racing will continue to receive the total backing of car Ford.

There had been rumours that the American car giants would withdraw their sponsorship of Jaguar following the dismissal of chief executive Jacques Nasser in October.

But Jaguar marketing chief Judith McMahon told the Motor Sport Business Conference on Thursday: "We are absolutely certain there will be no change in future strategy.

"This was made absolutely clear that Ford will continue to give Jaguar complete support."

Jaguar had a disappointing 2001 season in Formula One, finishing eighth in the standings with just nine points.
