Holden and Winkle finished 45 seconds up on Conrad Harrison and Mike Aylott
Clitheroe's John Holden and Andrew Winkle secured their first sidecar TT win on Thursday, having previously finished second on five occasions. The Suzuki duo moved up from second place after Monday's winners Klaus Klaffenbock and Dan Sayle suffered mechanical problems on the final lap. "I've waited a long time for this - it's great to be on the top step of the podium at last," said Holden. Holden and Winkle finished 45 seconds up on Conrad Harrison and Mike Aylott.

Tony Elmer and Darren Marshall pipped Tim Reeves and Gregory Cluze for third. Brothers Ben and Tom Birchall were fifth, with Klaffenbock and Manxman Sayle sixth. Klaffenbock, who won the first sidecar event on Monday, enjoyed an 11-second lead over Holden after the first lap thanks to a speed of 114.07mph. The Austrian extended his advantage to 17 seconds after lap two, with an improved speed of 114.36, the fastest lap of the race. But by lap three at the Bungalow, Holden was 22 seconds ahead of Klaffenbock and he held on to win. Third-placed finishers Elmer and Marshall finished 27 seconds behind Harrison and Aylott.
