Swindon Robins have signed rider Chris Schramm from Ipswich ahead of Thursday's meeting with Wolverhampton.

The 26-year-old, who will still ride for the Witches, will share a team spot with Josh Grajczonek.

Captain Simon Stead will miss the Elite League clash after failing to recover from a rib injury picked up in March.

"Once again Simon is frustrated but he knows he has to be totally fit with an injury like this," said Swindon boss Ronnie Russell.

"He cannot ride the bike in discomfort, we wouldn't want him to, so he needs a little more time to get it right and only rest will do that.

We have to show the same character and determination that we did against Poole and Eastbourne

"He, and us, have been assured he will be ready to race after another week to 10 days and we look forward to having him back in the side.

"Believe me, nobody is more frustrated with this situation than Simon himself.

"Wolves will be a big test but they have injury problems of their own and we have to show the same character and determination that we did against Poole and Eastbourne, along with the help of our fans."
