Cooper hopes to make his return at Thruxton for round four in June

Isle of Man rider Callan Cooper will miss the third round of the BSB 125GP Championship after breaking his left leg at Oulton Park on Monday.

Starting on the front row of the grid the 14-year-old had podium hopes but came off overtaking a back marker.

"I was overtaking on the outside but he hit my back wheel and it was all over for both of us," said the RCD Motorsports Honda team rider.

Cooper finished seventh on debut at Brands Hatch a week earlier.

"I feel much more comfortable now I'm in a proper cast. I'm not happy at missing Croft but looking forward to the fourth round at Thruxton in June," he said.

"I must also say a big thank you to the paramedics who were brilliant."

The race was won by Rod Guiver and after two rounds Matt Davies leads the championship.
