Weymouth Wildcats chairman Phil Bartlett has offered to sell the club for £1 as soon as a buyer can be found.
It is a last-ditch move by Bartlett after interest in the sale cooled but the price would include any prospective buyer taking on the club's liabilities.
"Anyone wanting to take over the club from me within 24 hours can do so by contacting me," Bartlett said.
"I've had my time with Weymouth and it's now time for someone else to be involved and for me to move on."
The Dorset club will stage a "Farewell Individual" meeting on Friday night between past and present riders.
It is being touted as potentially the final meeting to be held at the Wessex Stadium unless a buyer comes forward.
Weymouth was without speedway between 1985, when the promotion was moved to Poole, and 2003 when the sport returned to the town.
