Ian Hutchinson equalled Phillip McCallen's record of four Isle of Man TT wins in one week with victory in an exciting Supersport Race Two.

Hutchinson led runner-up Michael Dunlop by five seconds after lap one, by eight after the lap two pit-stops, and by three seconds after the third lap.

Midway through the final lap Dunlop edged in front but Hutchinson recovered to win the race by 1.5 seconds.

Dunlop established a lap record for the class at 127.83mph.

Hutchinson, who also lapped at over 127mph on his final lap on his way to his seven TT win, beat the previous race record by 16.5 seconds.

Scot Keith Amor completed the podium, with Guy Martin, John McGuinness and Conor Cummins making up the top six.

Padgett's Honda rider Hutchinson rifled in a fast opening lap of 126.65 to lead, but Dunlop pressed him all the way.

I lacked enough speed on the Mountain section where Ian was really strong

"That was a tough, tough race," said 30-year-old Hutchinson from Bingley.

"I have been struggling badly with a heavy cold and if it had been the big bike I was riding I don't think I could have ridden as well."

Dunlop said: "I lacked enough speed on the Mountain section where Ian was really strong - that comes from his short circuit experience. I will just have to try harder next time."

William Dunlop, Bruce Anstey, Ryan Farquhar and Daniel Kneen completed the top 10.

Hutchinson had already taken victories in the Superbike, Supersport race one and Superstock races earlier in the week.
