The 17 circuits of the 2000 Formula One season - with maps showing every twist and turn and a guide to recent results.

March 12: Australia

The tree-lined roads of Melbourne's Albert Park provide one of the most popular venues for drivers and fans alike.

March 26: Brazil

Bumpy and anti-clockwise, Interlagos is not easy on the drivers but local fans are looking forward to this race more than any in the last five years.

April 9: San Marino

The two sides of Imola - great sadness after the 1994 death of Ayrton Senna but a riot of colour in support of local heroes Ferrari.

April 23: Britain

Silverstone is holding an Easter Parade in 2000 but many fear British April showers could spoil the move from midsummer.

May 7: Spain

Barcelona is the testing bed for Formula One cars with teams spending hours trying to create the fastest possible machine in the reliable climate.

May 21: Europe

The Nurburgring might not be its historic predecessor but last year the little brother of the old monster produced one of the races of the season.

June 4: Monaco

Monte Carlo hosts the most glamorous and unusual race on the calendar, and has only been dominated by the very best drivers.

June 18: Canada

Montreal is an attractive proposition for spectators but for drivers it is about as enjoyable as a trip on a dangerous motorway.

July 2: France

Magny-Cours enjoys a remote location in the middle of the country but is one of the most challenging of all the modern F1 circuits.

July 16: Austria

The A1-Ring is another modern track which has struggled to win friends in the F1 world - but its characteristics can provide interesting racing.

July 30: Germany

Hockenheim is the fastest track on the calendar - with a winding tour around a sports stadium to break up the long blasts through dense woodland.

August 13: Hungary

The narrow Hungaroring is F1's greatest endurance test where driver frustration often reaches boiling point in the midsummer heat.

August 27: Belgium

Spa-Francorchamps is the classic road circuit which anyone can visit since it uses one of the Europe's most dramatic public highways.

September 10: Italy

Monza is not the dramatic banked circuit it was but remains the place where Ferrari's tifosi support are at their most passionate.

September 24: United States

Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts F1's return to the States with a new track built on in the infield of the famous venue's oval circuit.

October 8: Japan

Suzuka is a fast figure-of-eight - click to take a lap with Damon Hill at the track where he tasted title glory in a last race shoot-out.

October 22: Malaysia

Sepang's state-of-the art circuit has set a standard other new tracks have to follow and is all set to stage a fitting finale to 2000.
