Lynn face tough test in Trophy

Darcy Ward
Darcy Ward misses the Premier Trophy semi final second leg

The King's Lynn Stars trail Workington by 12 points going into Wednesday's Premier Trophy semi-final second leg.

King's Lynn will have to overturn a 51-39 deficit to advance to the Premier Trophy final.

The Stars' promoter Buster Chapman says the team will have a tough task overturning the deficit.

"I believe we're going to have to really pull out all the stops to get those 12 points back," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

King's Lynn will be without Darcy Ward for the tie after he was injured in the match against Edinburgh on Friday.

Buster Chapman says losing Darcy Ward is a big blow to the team for the second leg of the Premier Trophy semi-final.

"Darcy is a big part of the team and we're going to miss him badly."

The teenage Australian star has fractured his ankle and could be out of action for up to six weeks.

There is also an injury doubt over Jan Graversen who had to withdraw from the Edinburgh meeting after a crash which left a two inch splinter in his jaw.

Graversen had a minor operation and declared himself fit to ride against Workington but had to withdraw after the second race.

The second leg of the Premier Trophy semi-final is at the Norfolk Arena at 1930 BST on Wednesday.

The winners will face either Edinburgh or Scunthorpe.
