Harvey drives for the Fortec team

Lincolnshire racing driver Jack Harvey had his first non-finish at the Formula BMW Europe Series in Germany. The 16-year-old from Bassingham finished in 17th place in the first race, but then in wet conditions crashed out of the second. He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Luckily there are some positives we can take away from it. "This year is about learning, so I just have to make sure what happened this weekend doesn't happen again." Harvey was caught out when the car in front of him braked earlier than he expected and the unavoidable contact put him out of the race. He admitted: "It was just a mistake and I think rookies are entitled to these every now and again." He now has two weeks before his next race in Hungaroring, Hungary.
