Nascar is to pay tribute to the 32 victims of the Virginia Tech shooting tragedy at its next three races.
A 'VT' logo will be appear on all race cars in Phoenix, Arizona, this weekend, at Talladega, Alabama, on 28 April, and on 5 May at Richmond, Virginia.
Nascar chairman Brian France said: "We wanted to make a simple, but strong gesture of remembrance.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families, friends and the entire Virginia Tech community."
South Korean student Cho Seung-Hui killed 32 people at the university in Blacksburg, Virginia, before shooting himself dead.
Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle, who threw the first no-hitter of new baseball season, wore a Virginia Tech cap during his team's 6-0 win against the Texas Rangers.
