Scotsman Dario Franchitti is confident he can take pole position for the Indianapolis 500 on 29 May.
Franchitti is aiming for a good show in qualifying
Qualifying for the legendary Indy Racing League 500-miler begins at the weekend and the Edinburgh driver was fourth fastest in Wednesday's session.
"The Andretti Green cars and the Penske cars are all shooting for the pole, most definitely," said Andretti.
"We all have the right equipment, and it's just a matter of whether we do it right on the day."
Team-mate Dan Wheldon, who leads the IRL standings after three wins, was seventh quickest but he is shrugging off his tag as pre-race favourite.
Yorkshireman Darren Manning was 16th fastest for Ganassi Racing while reigning IRL champion Tony Kanaan, one of Franchitti's Andretti Green team-mates, was fastest of all.
Rookie Danica Patrick continued her bid to become the first woman to take pole at Indy by setting the second quickest time in her David Letterman-owned car.
