British driver Andy Priaulx secured pole position for the first of Sunday's two World Touring Car Championship races in Macau.
Priaulx was more than six-tenths of a second clear of the field in his BMW after setting a best lap time of two minutes 31.712 seconds.
Priaulx, currently second in the standings, is battling with Dirk Muller and Fabrizio Giovanardi for the title.
Muller will start from sixth on the grid and Giovanardi from ninth.
