The inaugural race of the A1 Grand Prix series at Brands Hatch has been moved back a week to Sunday, 25 September.
Brands Hatch is preparing to host the series opener
Its original date clashed with British Touring Car Championship races at Silverstone and the Goodwood Revival.
The new series will feature up to 20 drivers competing for national teams, all using identical Lola cars.
Jonathan Palmer of circuit owners MotorSport Vision: "We're thrilled to have the first event of this exciting new championship at Brands Hatch."
He added: "Our three-year agreement to host A1 Grand Prix provides racing fans with a world-class car racing event at Brands Hatch.
"We are looking forward to working with Sheikh Maktoum Hashar Maktoum Al Maktoum to create a truly outstanding entertainment event."
The series is the brainchild of Sheikh Maktoum, who is bankrolling the championship.
He said: "We had an amazing reaction from the UK fans to the announcement that the first event was being held in the UK.
"They confirmed our beliefs they are one of the most patriotic group of fans in motorsport.
"Many of the fans had already purchased tickets for other events on that date, so were disappointed they were not going to be able to attend our event.
"We have now made it possible for them to be with us at Brands Hatch."
