Tony Stewart survived a late scare in the Watkins Glen International to claim his fifth NASCAR win in seven races.
After a late caution forced two extra laps Stewart radioed in an alternator problem, which forced him to close some systems and move to a back-up battery.
But his car managed to keep going and at the re-start he drove away from Robby Gordon to claim victory.
His win on the famous New York state road course gives him a 105-point lead over Jimmie Johnson, who was fifth.
