GB duo seal World Cup victories

Clark bounced back from a first-round exit at the World Championships

Sarah Clark and Kimberley Renicks got Great Britain's campaign off to a fine start with golds at the 2009 GB Judo World Cup in Birmingham.

Clark prevailed over Hilde Dexler of Austria in the -63kg final with an ippon after two minutes 39 seconds.

Scot Renicks took charge of her -48kg final against Ireland's Lisa Kearney with an early yuko and saw off a couple of late challenges to secure victory.

Meanwhile, James Millar, Alex Farbon and Sophie Johnstone all won bronzes.

Edinburgh's Millar won his in the -60kg category with an ippon against Russia's Murad Abdulaev.

Camberley's Johnstone finished her -52kg medal decider with a waza-ari and yuko over Miriam Polak of the Netherlands.

Reading fighter Farbon won his in the -73kg bronze category when, with the scores locked heading towards the end of the extra period, his Norwegian opponent Martin Thiblin was disqualified after picking up two penalties for inactivity.

However, in the -66kgs, Norwich fighter Colin Oakes lost his bronze medal match against Canada's Sasha Mehmedovic.
