Ronnie O'Sullivan finally fulfilled his great potential and won the Snooker World Championship, beating John Higgins in the final.

The semi-final line-up is now complete after Ronnie O'Sullivan sealed his place in the last four with a 13-6 win over Peter Ebdon. He will now face Joe Swail who overcame Patrick Wallace to win 13-11. John Higgins ruthlessly dispatched Ken Doherty 13-6 to set up a meeting with Matthew Stevens who wrapped up a 13-5 victory over Stephen Hendry.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan wins all eight frames in the second session to open an imposing 12-4 advantage over Peter Ebdon, leaving him one frame short of a semi-final place, while Peter Wallace leads Joe Swail 6-2, John Higgins is 5-3 up against Ken Doherty and Stephen Hendry trails Matthew Stevens 11-5.
