USA cruise to relay win
The triumphant US 4x400m team
Byrd, Drew, Taylor and Pettigrew celebrate their gold
The US quartet won the men's 4x400m relay in Edmonton on Sunday with Britain back in sixth.

Angelo Taylor brought the Americans home in a time of two minutes 57.53 seconds, well clear of the Bahamas in second, with Jamaica taking bronze.

It was sweet consolation for Taylor who fell in his individual event, the 400m hurdles.

British hopes of boosting a meagre medal tally never looked a realistic proposition.

Iwan Thomas ran a solid first leg before handing over to Jamie Baulch who also ran well to leave Britain with an outside chance of bronze.

But a poor leg by Tim Benjamin and another problematic baton change meant Mark Richardson had little chance of gaining ground on the leaders.
