![]() Danes edge out France
France 3-4 Denmark
A late strike from Gritte Krogh gave Denmark a dramatic victory against France in the women's European Championships. Krogh struck after 90 minutes when she scored after French goalkeeper Corinne Lagache could only parry Christina Bonde's free-kick. The goal was Krogh's second of the game following her opener when she put Denmark into the lead from the spot after 15 minutes. Bonde then scored with a 35-yard free-kick to put the Danes two up before France hit back. Mariette Pichon's 20th minute shot received a deflection on its way into the Danish goal. Sent-off France equalised seven minutes later through Stephanie Mugneret Beghe and had keeper Lagache to thank for keeping them level. She saved a penalty after 55 minutes and was injured in the process. But Lagache could not stop Julie Hauge Andersen sliding the ball past her to round off an impressive move by the Danes which put them back in front. France again drew level with a goal from Gaelle Blouin after 83 minutes but suffered a blow when captain Corinne Diacre was sent-off. Krogh's late winner compounded France's misery as they are now all but out of the tournament.
