USPGA third round Tiger Watch
Tiger Woods' first 18 holes at the USPGA title
All the hole-by-hole action as Tiger Woods records an erratic 69 on the third day at the Athletic Club course in Atlanta.

  • Hole one:
Woods, who staged a great fightback late on Friday to avoid missing the cut, gets his third round underway with a straightforward par at the first hole. His opening drive finds the rough but Tiger recovers and comes close with his birdie effort.

Playing partner Fred Funk birdies to move to one-under-par.

  • Hole two:
Tiger goes on the attack by holing a birdie three on the second hole to move to one-under-par. The three comes despite a hooked drive off the tee as he recovers for an excellent birdie. He is now eight shots behind the leaders.

  • Hole three:
Woods fails to maintain his momentum as he picks up a bogey five on one of the most difficult holes on the course. His short par putt lips the hole and he taps in for a five.

  • Hole four:
Woods pars the par three fourth for the third time in the tournament, while playing partner Fred Funk drops a shot with a four.

Woods was frustrated by his putting
Tiger's expected charge is not materialising, as he records a bogey six on the relatively easy par five fifth hole. The six is all the more disapponting given that Woods had birdied the hole in his two previous rounds.

In contrast, playing partner Fred Funk holes a birdie to move to one-under-par.

  • Hole nine:
Normal service is resumed as Woods conjures up an eagle two at the ninth hole. His sand wedge pitch to the ninth landed just short of the flag and hopped in. He is now seven shots behind the leaders after going out in two-under-par 33.

  • Hole 10:

  • Hole 12:
Woods's progress continues as he birdies the par five 12th. His eagle putt goes almost four foot past, but he strokes the ensuing birdie putt into the side of the hole.

  • Hole 13:
Despite driving into the rough, Woods manages a simple par at the 13th hole.

  • Hole 14:
Trouble for Woods at the par four. His drive finds rough and a bad lie and his second shot catches a bunker in front of the green. Excellent shot from the bunker sets up a makeable par putt. But Tiger again shows his fallibility as he pushes his putt past for a five,

  • Hole 15:
Tiger bounces back with an immediate birdie. A great drive from Tiger on the par three sets up a birdie chance. Then a magnificent putt from near 20 foot secures a three at the 15th for the second successive day.

  • Hole 16:
Woods races his birdie shot well past the hole, but comfortably holes out for a par.

  • Hole 17:
A good drive from Woods finds the green on the par three. Woods really goes for the 30 foot birdie putt but he sends the ball about seven feet past. He is unable to rescue par and registers the fourth bogey of an erratic round.

  • Hole 18:
Woods hits an excellent drive at the final hole, as he aims to finish his topsy-turvy round on a high. He plays a five-iron from near 250 yards and finds the back of the green.

Tiger has to chip but fails to get hold of his shot, leaving him with a difficult putt for par. Woods comes up short and finishes with a bogey five to drop back to one-under-par after a 69.
