A tale of two halves
Matt Dawson
BBC Sport Online columnist Matt Dawson says the Lions are hurting after paying the price for missed opportunities.

The boys are very disappointed. We are disappointed in ourselves, especially because of the stark contrast of our performance in the two halves.

We were dominant in the first half and defended well but we were blitzed by a very good Aussie side in the second-half when they made amends.

They beat us by 21 points so that is going to hurt
  Matt Dawson

We had two or three good opportunities to put away which we didn't in the first half and they may have changed the complex of the game.

We probably thought we had a lead bigger than it was but you have to deal with what is in front you.

We didn't implement the ideas we had in the second-half.

We played well before the interval but it is the result that counts. They beat us by 21 points so that is going to hurt.

We have to make it up to ourselves. Jonny Wilkinson's injury is a bit of a blow - it was thought he had a broken leg - but everyone else seems okay with some knocks and bruises going around.

The 1-1 scoreline is what most of the punters wanted and the next Test is a huge game
  Matt Dawson

We now regroup and there will be a meeting on Sunday where we will try to get to grips with what has happened.

We have a full week of preparation before the next Test. We have to use that to the maximum and give it our best shot.

The 1-1 scoreline is what most of the punters wanted and the next Test is a huge game.
