Sports Personality 2001 - Vote Here!
Voting has now closed for The BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2001.
Your nominations will be reduced to a shortlist of six to vote for on the night of the programme, Sunday 9 December between 2000-2200 GMT.
In football, David Beckham and Michael Owen inspired England to the World Cup finals. Triple jumper Jonathan Edwards, snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan, rally driver Richard Burns and sailor Ellen MacArthur all became world champions in their sports this year. Lennox Lewis will also be riding high after regaining the heavyweight championship of the world with a fourth round knockout in his rematch with Hasim Rahman. Rowing hero Matthew Pinsent, rugby international Martin Johnson and champion jump jockey Tony McCoy, among many others, will all have support. The names will be reduced to a shortlist of six to vote for on the night of the programme, Sunday 9 December between 2000-2200 GMT. Voting has now closed, but tune in on Sunday to see who gets this prestigious prize. |
