Matthew Pinsent
Sydney was another great Olympic Games for Matthew Pinsent, who has now won his third gold medal.

The rower's Olympic golds and his seven World Championship golds make him one of Britain's most successful athletes.

In Australia he was part of the coxless four and - claim many - the key part. Over the last couple of years Pinsent has been acknowledged as the best rower in the world.

This year Pinsent has established himself as a sporting personality both inside the boat and out of it.

Now 30 years old, he has spent 10 years competing at the top level alongside his rowing teammate Steve Redgrave.

With Redgrave finally calling it a day, Pinsent has the opportunity to step out of his sizeable shadow and achieve more success in the future.

A fourth gold in Athens?
