Shots to remember
Price's heroics lifted the crowd and his team-mates
Phillip Price looked likely to be little more than a sacrificial lamb after being drawn against Phil Mickelson for Sunday's crucial round of singles.
Like so many of his team-mates ahead of him on the course, Price edged into an early lead. But he looked certain to be pegged back at the sixth after finding the edge of a water hazard. Mickelson had already put his approach just feet from the pin as Price addressed the ball with his grip right down the shaft of the club. Somehow, the Welshman sent a brilliant shot to six feet, sank the putt and watched as Mickelson missed a sitter to surrender the hole. Price was no less composed at the business end of the match either. With Mickelson set for an easy birdie at 13, Price hit a superb second to six feet from the rough and halved the hole. And a 25-foot putt on the 16th green sealed a momentous 3&2 win to leave Europe a point from victory. "Every time I knocked it close, he seemed to have an answer," Mickelson conceded afterwards.
