Hole 7 at Augusta
450 yards, par four

By Peter Alliss
BBC TV golf commentator

This is one of the most interesting holes for me.

It never used to be as long - Tiger Woods could probably have driven it with a breath of wind behind him so they initially added another 45 yards and now they have extended it by a further 40 yards.

It is a narrowish fairway through the trees and you wonder what the policy should be.

It used to be whether to take a four iron off the tee and leave yourself an eight iron or blast away with a driver and virtually get to the front of the green. Not so now.

Another problem, once again, is that the green is raised and is very narrow, with big bunkers in the front. The narrowness makes it very difficult to get the ball the right distance.
