Rose keeps calm
Justin Rose
Masters leader Justin Rose is determined to enjoy himself as he enters the most important weekend of his career at Augusta.

The 23-year-old Englishman leads the field by two shots at the halfway point in the first major of the year.

"Playing under pressure for the right reasons is fun," said Rose, who will tee off in Saturday's final pairing.

"Not that leading a major is easy, but I think I'm lucky in a lot of ways. I will just take things slowly."

Europeans dominate the top of the leaderboard, with Jose Maria Olazabal and Alex Cejka Rose's nearest rivals.

Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia and Bernhard Langer are all also firmly in the hunt at level par, six shots adrift.

No first-round leader has won the Masters since Ben Crenshaw in 1984, but Rose has experience of dealing with pressure when under the spotlight.

The 17-year-old from Hook in Hampshire burst onto the scene when he finished fourth in the 1998 Open as an amateur.

He was touted as a potential golfing superstar but then missed the cut at the first 21 tournaments he played in.

"Every time I was in contention to make the cut I felt there was an incredible amount of pressure on me," he said.

"That was obviously probably completely the wrong way to see it. Playing under pressure for the wrong reasons, that's awful," he said.
