Laura Davies still in hunt to top European rankings

Laura Davies
Davies is chasing a record eighth LET merit title

Britain's Laura Davies is targeting top spot in the Ladies' European Tour Order of Merit after winning the Women's Indian Open in Delhi.

Davies, 47, won a four-way play-off to keep her hopes alive of topping the LET rankings at the season-ending Dubai Ladies Masters (8-11 December).

She is currently euros 32,444 short of South African Lee-Ann Pace's earnings.

"This means I have to win in Dubai to surpass Lee-Anne," she said. The Dubai prize fund totals euros 500,000.

Four-time major winner Davies's victory in India gave her a 77th career title.

She is chasing a record eighth LET Order of Merit, having topped the money list in 1985, 1986, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2004 and 2006.
