Golfing superstar Tiger Woods returns to Wales this week bidding to help America retain the Ryder Cup at the Celtic Manor.
But Woods suffered defeat in his last team visit to Wales when the United States lost 14-10 to Great Britain and Ireland in the 1995 Walker Cup.
And this BBC Sport archive footage, the American rookie lost to experienced Walker Cup player Gary Wolstenholme by one hole in day one of the Royal Porthcawl matchplay event.
Woods, then a promising 19-year-old, did get revenge on Wolstenholme in Woods' only Walker Cup appearance on day two in Wales with a 4&3 singles victory.
But Woods, paired with John Harris, did lose his day two foursomes match at Royal Porthcawl to Irish pair Jody Fanagan and Europe's current Ryder Cup star Padraig Harrington.
"I've been to Wales previously and I'm looking forward to going back," Woods said after earning a 2010 Ryder Cup wildcard pick from American captain Corey Pavin.
