Pettersson's last PGA Tour win came in 2008

Sweden's Carl Pettersson shot six birdies in eight holes for a 14-under par total to take the Canadian Open by one shot from American Dean Wilson.

Pettersson shot a tournament-record 60 in Saturday's third round to put himself in contention but still started the day four shots behind Wilson,

But he birdied the eighth which started a rich run of form and could afford the luxury of a bogey at the 18th.

Briton Luke Donald finished a further shot back after a final round of 66.

Pettersson's challenge looked to be faltering early on as he bogeyed the fourth and seventh holes to leave Wilson in a strong position.

But the Swede recovered for back-to-back birdies at the eighth and ninth before another at the 11th and three in a row from the 13th.

And Wilson dropped shots at the 12th and 14th to hand the Swede the lead which he never lost.

It was the Swede's fourth PGA Tour win and gives him a place at next month's US PGA at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin and the 2011 Masters.
